Memorandum of Understanding
A Memorandum between the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture was signed.
On February 3, of this year, a meeting was held in the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia between the leadership of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia and the Ministry.
From the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia, the following participated in the meeting: President of the Academy, Academician Guram Aleksidze, Vice-President of the Academy, Academician Givi Japaridze, Advisor to the Presidium and Consultant of Scientific Directions Academician Nodar Chitanava, Deputy President of the Academy, Academician Anatoli Giorgadze.
From the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia - Minister Mr. Otar Shamugia, First Deputy Minister Mr. Giorgi Khanishvili, Deputy Minister Mr. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister Mr. Apolon Kakabadze, Mr. Tengiz Kalandadze, Head of Policy Coordination and Analytics Ms. Ekaterine Zviadadze, Advisor to the Minister Mr. Omar Kacharava.
The meeting was held with the following agenda:
1. Greeting from the Minister Otar Shamugia, and Academician Guram Aleksidze, President of the Academy.
2. Discussion and signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Academy of Agriculture and Sciences of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia. Speaker:
Academician Nodar Chitanava, Advisor to the Presidium of the Academy.
3. Main goals and objectives of the Memorandum of Cooperation.
Speaker: Vice-President of the Academy, Academician Givi Japaridze.
4. Information of the Academy on the possibility of introducing new methods of combating the plant pest "Pharosana" in the western regions of Georgia.
Speaker: President of the Academy, Academician Guram Aleksidze.
5. Expansion and activation of mutual cooperation between the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Georgia and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, based on the current problems of agricultural products and food production.
Speaker: Deputy Minister Giorgi Khanishvili.
