On 27th of June, 2018, in the conference hall of the Academy on: ”The role and significance of GAAS national coordinators in the development of Georgian Agriculture.”
The Round Table was opened by Vice President of the Academy, Givi Japaridze who underlined the role of the institute of coordinators in different fields of agriculture. He also mentioned that this unit also directs a special field group working at GAAS. 
Academician Givi Japaridze shared with the participants his opinion regarding positive, as well as negative aspects of the activities carried out by the coordinators. He made comments on the regulation of National Coordinators and underscored the necessity of introduction of some changes.
During the working process of the Round Table, the participants, academicians of GAAS expressed their opinion, clarified some details and focused on the necessary of change which should be introduced to make the work of coordinators more effective.
The head of Academic Department, Academicians N. Chitanava, and E.Shapakidze positively spoke about the functions of national coordinators and about their future plans.
The speech of Professor Noe Khozrevanidze, Director of Caucasus Mountain Institute at Technical University was very informative as he offered a list of 300 documentary films about modern technologies used in agriculture which will help national coordinators during their meetings in the regions, also the collection could be successfully applied during the training sessions conducted at the academy, the Training Center of farmers and specialists.
Academician Givi Japaridze summarized the work of the Round Table, reiterated the role and functions of National Coordinators’ institute formed at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences which is a very effective administrative form to set up close cooperation and partnership between agrarian sciences and agriculture. This Institute needs further development, and the opinions expressed at the round table regarding further increase of the role of coordinators will be considered.
